I would like to say that the memory I'll always have is having two great kids that Paul and I shared. He will always have a piece of my heart.

Many memories of your dad at your santa monica apartment.  Paul would always make me laugh when we chatted and would tease me for being the kid I was. I am sending my condolences to you all. Hopefully you have many memorias together. I know he loved you guys very much. 

Last time I saw Paul was July 2000. Paul and his family spent about a week at my place in Ojai, California. I remember sitting with him on the back porch of my house, looking out to the trees and hills beyond the chain-link fence that surrounded my backyard. He said to me, "You know what? I love my kids [Justin and Katie]."  I chuckled at what seemed to be an epiphany. "You mean you didn't love them before?" I joked. He looked at a necklace he just bought Katie and said, "I have a hard time saying it sometimes, you know? But I do." This memory stayed with me. RIP Paul.

I have many memories with Paul that a cherish in my heart. The one I’d like to share is going fishing with Katie and him early one morning. We got McDonalds breakfast ❤️ And spent the day hanging out on his boat with him soaking in the sun.
I remember he was driving the boat and called back to us to “hold on!!”, and he did a quick turn to make us pop out of our seats a little for fun. He did it safely and  we we’re all were laughing the whole time.
I loved looking through all his finishing metals and hanging out with him and GiGi on the couch laughing at something  on the TV. 
The Shepherds were like my second family for most of my young life and I will miss him.

Paul was an incredibly special person to Katie and Justin. Anyone who had the chance to meet him experienced that same trait. He had a quiet elegance to him. With hazel eyes and sun-kissed skin, he walked with intent — a natural protector of those around him. Before Katie and I learned to drive, Paul would take us to the Promenade. We had many memories together — shopping at the GAP, munching on curly fries at the Jack and the Box drive through, and laughing when Paul wasn’t looking. We think he had just as much as fun as we did, even if he didn’t show it. Later when Katie learned to the drive, he surprised her with her first car — a dark turquoise Toyota that she always kept crystal clean. By way of Paul, we always found our way back to the Promenade. He either drove us there or he provided the car that took us there. Thank you Paul for all of the memories. You’ll forever be in our hearts. 

I'll always remember Paul with his white truck & his red metal tool chest. He was always good with his hands & could fix just about anything. One time after my go-ped got stolen, I finally had enough money to buy a new one & the first thing I did was show it off to Justin. When Paul saw that I had a new one, the first thing he did was walk to his tool chest & got a hammer metal stamps & take it & turn it to the metal frame side & stamped in my phone number on it so it could be identified if it got stolen again. It was very thoughtful of him.  RIP Paul
