Pearl Eve Moore was born August 6, 1929, in Cuba to Reginald L. Delapenha and Claris Christian. She was one of eight siblings. In her twenties, she moved to the United States, and New York City in the 1950s. In 1957, she married her beloved and life partner, Bud Moore, who preceded her death in 2016. They settled in their home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where they raised their children and spent fifty-nine years of marriage until his passing. Much like a pearl, she was a rare beauty, a gem of the sea. She had a caring soul and loved helping others. For thirty years, she worked in a convalescent home assisting the elderly. In her downtime, you might have found her catching one of her programs, mostly black-and-white western shows, on the television. She was proud of her Cuban heritage and shared her love through her cooking, which included dishes such as rice and fried plantains. On September 1, 2024, at the age of 95, she peacefully passed away in Los Angeles, California. She is survived by her children, Reginald Moore (Rosa Robles), Jose Silver (Sherry Silver), and Florence Moore; and five grandchildren, Liana, Devina, and Julian Moore, and Corey and Christopher Silver.
Pearl was a kind, spirited, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her love knew no bounds or limits. She treasured her family and thanked God every day she was given with them. She will be dearly missed, and her spirit will live on in the cherished memories of those blessed by her love.
