A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 4, 2023 from 5-9pm with Military Honors at 6:00pm at Eternal Valley Memorial Park & Mortuary located at 23287 North Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321.
Richard was born in San Diego, CA to Karen (Buechs) and Thomas McClinnis on November 22, 1976. After Graduation from Monte Vista High School in Spring Valley, CA, Richard enlisted and served in the U.S. Army. Following the U.S. Army, he continued on with the National Guard.
Richard met his Wife, Andrea (Karthas) 15 years ago, and it was Love at first sight for both of them. Richard and Andrea were married in a beautiful ceremony among family and friends on November 11, 2011 in Danvers, Massachusetts. On December 11, 2017 Richard and Andrea welcomed the two loves of their lives, their twins, Dimitri and Adaline. They were the missing pieces to the puzzle, and made their Family complete.
Working as a Transportation Specialist for Stericycle for the last 14+ years, Richard would travel all over Southern California to various Hospitals and Clinics picking up their biohazard.
If you know Richard, you know that Richard’s sarcasm was one for the books, and that Richard only had one volume, LOUD. His infectious spirit, his great big heart, and thoughtfulness out of the blue would put a smile on your face. He would often try to help others if he could.
Richard had a voracious appetite for listening to audiobooks, and a love of comic books that has been with him since childhood. One of his more recent hobbies/passions over the last few years was following the stock market. He could talk to anyone he met about stocks, what was going on, how things were fluctuating, and how it was only a matter of time until the next moass (mother of all short squeezes) happens. Richard would **love** to engage with anyone who would be interested in learning more.
What Richard loved most was spending time with his wife and kids whenever he could. Whether it was at an area park, at Six Flags, the movies, bowling, out to eat, or swimming, the family just loved being together. It was always a bonus whenever both sides of our extended family could get together.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, Thomas, and his niece, Tayler McClinnis.
Richard is survived by his wife, Andrea, his adorable 5-year-old twins, Dimitri and Adaline, his mother Karen, his brother Ray, sister-in-law Jennifer, and nephews Matthew, Austin and his Fiancée Emily Pucci, and his mother-in-law Nancy (Orcutt) Karthas, father-in-law David Karthas, brother-in-law Dan Karthas and sister-in-law Jackie Ramos.
Richard will be forever missed, but will remain forever in our hearts.
