Dear Jo-Ann and Family,
We just heard and we also let Diane know; we are all so saddened by this news.  Dick's bright smile and sense of humor are etched in our memories.  Please know that our thoughts are with you.

Ive called you Dad since I was 14 - and have always felt so fortunate to have had 2 great Dads in my life.  You are both in Heaven now, and Im hoping that between Grandpa Joe and my Dad, you are able to get a few words in! I am so fortunate to be part of your family. I will miss your sweet smile; your bear hugs; having fresh sliced tomatoes with our eggs in the mornings when Mark and I would visit. Thank you for being so wonderful to me. Kind, generous, funny, witty, warm, and filled with love - to give, and to receive - to and from all of us fortunate to be apart of your life. Your poem that you had - just another example of who you were.  I love - and will miss you, always..until we meet again in Heaven.  Your (very fortunate) other daughter, Lisa

My Dad new more and shared more than I can possibly express. Most importantly (to me anyway) was the way in which he reared and taught me; it was by example and encouraging me, with ever  such subtlety to ask the questions. He exposed me to the best and some of the poorest realities. I take such solace in knowing that we each knew how much the other meant. No conversation ended with anything but "I love you."

I love you Dad and know you it. You'll be missed so much, but I'll try to adhere to your wishes and let you go with a trail of fond memories overwriting remorse. But all I can promise is the "trying" part.

I met Dick when I started at West Valley Charter in 1985. He looked at me and said " Kid are you crazy?" I smiled and said yes i was. That started a long friendship with the Best Bus Guru i have ever known. He knew everyone and everything and  explained everything he could to the kid from Campbell. He knew who I went to work for and understood. Our condolences to the family.

Jo-Ann:  My memory of Dick- Many years ago, Joel and a friend wanted to go on a camping trip. Their group decided to go inner tubing down the river.  When I said to you, "Who has inner tubes lying around?"  You said to have them talk to Dick.  Dick said, "Come on over."  When they arrived, he had the biggest bus inner tube they had ever seen!  They were the envy of their camping friends.  Dick turned this simple request into a forever memory.  His heart was bigger than that inner tube. May he rest in peace and may all the wonderful memories crowd out your sadness.  Love, Fong

I just learned of Dick's passing and send my heart felt condolences to his wife, family and friends.  I have fond memories of working with Dick at Hausman Bus Sales during the 70's.  May he rest in peace.

Dick has influenced many current individuals in the transportaiton industry through selling them equipment and also giving real life advice for their businesses. 

In his passing he will be missed but his being and knowledge lives through us.

Found out yesterday here in Florida and I offer my deepest condolences to Jo-Ann and the family. It was a real pleasure to work with Dick over the years at Hausman. He had a way of getting things done when the rest of us would get mired in bureaucracy. Dick was a genuine people person for all.

Our wishes are with all of the family. We have only great memories of Dick as he worked with all of us through the years.  He helped launch California Charter into the Coach market place and was always one to count on.  Well he outlasted the Northridge quake and made it many wonderful years into the future.
