Robert Louis Yurosek, 81 years, of Simi Valley, passed away on March 9, 2026. Bob was born February 3, 1945, in Van Nuys, California. He graduated Granada Hills High and Pierce College where he majored in agriculture.
After a stint in Porterville, California, overseeing and managing orange groves, he returned to the San Fernando Valley. A member of Local 12 Operating Engineers, Bob worked for most of his career as a general engineering contractor. Bob was a land development manager for Toll Brothers before his retirement. He was active as a coach and manager of his sons' Little League soccer and baseball teams.
Bob loved his faith, his family, his friends and his country. He loved spending time as a youth and young man at extended family gatherings at his parent's house in Lake Tahoe. He loved visiting Kentucky because it reminded him of Newhall, California, where his uncles owned farms. He enjoyed attending services at Calvary Westlake and listening to FOX news channel. He loved all things Tommy Bahama, Starbucks, and Pepperidge Farm Tahoe cookies. The highlight of his day was spending time with and loving his two Yorkshire Terriers Brady and Raphael and taking them to the dog park.
Bob is survived by his sons Joseph (Christine) and Steven, his grandchildren Morgan, Kate, and Jack Yurosek, his sister Linda James and brother-in-law Jerry, his brother Jeffrey Yurosek, his Aunt Joan McCoy, his first wife Patricia Jones, plus many cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his partner Jo Ann Smith, who is grateful she was able to spend eleven years with him. Jo Ann's family John (Nadia), Mark (Carrie, Steven (Christy), Paul (Jennifer) and her eight grandchildren loved Bob and considered him one of the family. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph John and Betty (nee Davis) and his wife Judy Lynn Yurosek (nee Davitt), and his friend and companion Andy Bredeson (nee Lerios).
Services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026, at noon at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, Newhall, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Bob liked to call himself "a simple man." He was a good, kind, loving and generous person and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
