I first met Dan at Parkview Junior High then we followed somewhat similar paths, AVHS class of 75, CSUN, Santa Clarita Athletic Club.  I think he was picked as "cutest eyes" in Junior High.  Dan always had a nice smile and a positive outlook.  He drove a really nice Mustang in the 1970's, I think it was a 1965 Mustang.

Dan was a very special man, one who I am honored to call my friend.  His enthusiasm positive attitude, ethics and unbridled energy was unequaled.    Coming to work was simply an excuse to hang out with Dan, learn from him and enjoy his company and work on a common cause.

I remember having a casual conversation with Dan in late February in 2017, about doing so poorly after a Saturday Cycleup spin class about being so fatigued and some discomfort in my chest. Dan over heard me talking to Heather (spin instructor) and told me that it was probably an inclusion and I should seek medical immediately. I took his advice and checked myself in to Henry Mayo hospital the very next day as a precaution. A week from having that conversation, I was recovering from quadruple bypass open heart surgery.....In short, I wouldn't be alive if weren't for Dan to go get checked out.....I will miss the Patriarch of the Cycleup family.

Anyone who had the pleasure of crossing paths with Dan was truly blessed. From softball days and then reconnecting through Cycle-up, Dan was always the nicest, most genuinely caring man. My heart is heavy for you and you have our heartfelt condolences. We are just a phone call away if you ever need anything.

Some of my greatest childhood memories are with you, Darren, and Deanna at the ball field and hanging out with our big family. I am always smiling when you cross my mind. Hearts are broken without Danny here, but he would want us to be strong like he taught us and like he was.  As I recently heard, “You don’t know how strong you are until you don’t have any other choice”.  You couldn’t have been more blessed to have Danny in your life, your soul, your heart. Not everybody gets that pleasure. He’ll always be there and will want you to keep moving, keep living fully,  keep being you.
My heart genuinely hurts for each of you. I wish I had words or actions to help.  Danny is with you every day.

Laurie, thank you for sharing the photos of wonderful memories of Dan, you and the girls. I remember at one of the softball games Dan showed up wearing the most awesome sunglasses. Maui Jim’s. Wow he looked sharp! I went and bought a pair just like them, still wear them, and take good care of them. $$. Worked with Dan years ago at Parker's Men's Wear. He taught me the basics of personal service. Things that I was able to utilize for years since.  He left for greater adventures shortly after. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

I am very saddened of  Dan's passing as I have the fondest memories of the great man. He was sharp, smart, charismatic and always had room for a big smile and a laugh. He was the one you would seek out when we all got together in the old days. We called each other pirates. I'm not entirely sure why. He has sailed off now into the sunset and he will be sorely missed.

Our sincere condolences to Laurie and the family.  Dan will be remembered for his friendship and dynamic leadership at Key Pharmaceuticals from the late 80s through the 90s.   He ensured we were successful, and importantly, had great fun.  He was instrumental in making Key one of the best places to work, ever.   I'll never forget our dinners (with the stars) in Beverly Hills and his impromptu treating us to a Kinks concert at the House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard.
