En la casa de mi Padre muchas moradas hay; si así no fuera, yo os lo hubiera dicho; voy, pues, a preparar lugar para vosotros.

I remember practically living with the Mendez family when they lived in Palmdale. I was always at the house or with them when they went out. He never told me to leave or told me or to stop coming over because I was there too long or to pay for my own food when I went out to dinner with them. He made me feel like one of his many sons. I remember when they moved to Vegas and I went to go visit them I was suppose to be there for like 2 weeks but turned out to be like almost 2 months. He never asked me for rent or anything or seemed to bother him. The family always thought I was afraid of Mrs Mendez but I was always afraid of Mr Mendez I will always have love for the Mendez family . Rest easy Mr Mendez 🙏🏻

I will always remember the sleep overs I had at the Mendez house. Growing up all I can remember is hanging out at the house and having so much fun. Uncle Roy never seemed bothered by our company, nor how loud we were, nor how long we stayed over. I honestly don’t know how he slept through all that when he had to work. I remember him having a quite presence about him and a quite laugh.
I will always remember our last conversation too. It was in my mid twenties and we talked for an hour or so just sharing our faith in Christ. That memory I will always keep with me.
All my love to the Mendez Family!!

Roy, I will always miss your visits to my house. Remember when you worked at the VA and I would tease you about using the government issued car during your visits. You were always a good sport and always asking me questions about your Dad. Now you will be with you Dad. You are a good boy, a good son, a good nephew and I will never forget you. Love you Tio Archie

One of my favorite memories of Roy, my cousin, is when Cousin Becky wanted to review the family tree. We met at Becky's house and he brought the long list of the family members. We were only going to meet for an hour or two it turned out to be a full day. Roy and I always shared family information old pictures, new pictures, old info and new info. I will miss our family historian.
