It is with great sadness that the family of Sharon Diane England announces her passing on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the age of 67. Sharon was a graduate of St. Philip Neri high school in Detroit, Michigan. She then graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit where she studied elementary education/deaf education. Prior to graduation, Sharon’s passionate interest in television production led her to spend summer months in California working as a Script Consultant for the entertainment industry. After graduation, Sharon started her teaching career as an elementary school teacher in Michigan. Not long after graduation, her love of the temperate climate of the Pacific coast drew her to relocate to California full time. Sharon spent the remainder of her teaching career as an elementary teacher in the LA Unified School District. While in California, she also studied Psychology at California State University. Sharon was an active member of the Emblem Club, a charitable organization that works with and supports
American Veterans as well as adult and children literacy and drug awareness projects.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Catherine England. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Thomas (Katherine) England, Debra (Gregory) Sokolik, Gregory (Michelle) England, Larry (Sherry) England, and Raymond (Laura Smigielski) England Jr.. Sharon will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, and many dear friends. A service and celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 26th at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church (19606 Calla Way, Canyon Country, CA, 91351). A memorial service will be held in her memory in Michigan at a later date. Sharon was a strong advocate for animal rescue organizations and spent many years pampering her rescued cats and dogs. To honor her love for animals, please make memorial donations in memory of Sharon to your local Humane Society, animal shelter or animal rescue.
