I remember Steve as a fun loving guy, always with a smile and a joke to tell.  When Chuck and I were first married, we lived in Sylmar, in an olive grove.  I thought we would always live in CA as I loved the warm weather and palm trees.  As you know that didn't happen, for after Chuck felt the call to the ministry, we had to move to Indiana where our church headquarters was located.  It so happened that a year later when we moved, I was 8 months pregnant.  Steve took time away from his job and family to help us move, driving and pulling a U-Haul, while I stayed propped up in the back seat.  That was Steve, always helping others and especially looking out for his little brother!  Alas, our time in CA was short, but we always tried to talk to him when he or Chuck called. He always took my side on issues - usually jokingly. In these past months he was a real inspiration, fighting his illness'es and never giving up.  He had such a positive attitude and he really loved Jesus.  I will miss his laughs and I know Chuck will as he said the other night, I want to talk to Buford.  This was a nickname he gave himself and so Chuck always referred to him like this.  We love you all and you will always be in our prayers.  Judy

It's hard to believe it was a only a year ago we were out there with you making memories. I am SO glad we had that time together and I wish we were there to give you big hugs now. I loved hearing all the stories about Uncle Steve and Dad on our visit. I do have a fun memory of riding in a dune buggy as a kid with Steve, Scott and Wayne. Sending love and prayers your way.

I wish we could have all came out and shared in your time of loss, but you have not been far from our thoughts and prayers. We wish you peace and comfort during the times ahead and will continue to support you from afar.  Love and Prayers to all. David/Debbie Wheatley and family. 

Mom and I want to express our sincere condolences at the loss of Steven.  We met Steven, Trudy and family members at Chuck's retirement celebration. It was a good memory and we will always cherish the time we spent together.
