Susan Olive Carlson Holt passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 1, 2026, following a lifetime of love. A beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she is already deeply missed.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Sue met the love of her life, Fernie George Holt, while on college spring break in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After marrying, they began their family in Chicago, relocated to Arizona and eventually settled in California. They shared 58 wonderful years of marriage before George’s passing in 2020.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Axel and Evelyn Sunder Carlson; her brothers, Donald and Lee Carlson; and her beloved husband, George.
Together, Sue and George built a family they loved beyond measure. She is survived by her children, Laurie Ender (Chris), Jeffrey Holt, and Steven Holt; grandchildren, Jason Ender (Alivia), Griffin Ender (Sierra), Davis Ender (Isabelle), Garrett Holt, and Lauren Holt; and great-granddaughters, Avery, Emma, and Andie, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
Sue had a gift for making friends wherever she went. From childhood friendships to coworkers and neighbors, she collected friends throughout her life. She never met a stranger and was always ready with a warm smile, a kind word, or a compliment. It was no surprise when she was made an official Ambassador at her senior living facility where she was tasked with welcoming new residents and making them feel at home. She loved her church family at Valencia Church in Santa Clarita, long phone calls with old friends and, more than anything else, having her entire family together.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local church or synagogue in her memory.
