Bill is survived by his children Michael, Meghan (Tommy) and Ryan (Mariana), as well as his grandson, Aiden. Forever remembered by his siblings Joyce Adams and David Bailey.
Bill was predeceased by his parents David Lewis (Lou) Bergstrom Bailey, Gertrude (Gertie) Grouchy Bailey (née McCorkle) and his wife, Marianne Catherine Bailey (née McCann).
Bill was born in Coatesville, Pennsylvania on February 23, 1945 and raised in Sunnyside, Washington. He was the second of three children.
Bill met his wife Marianne while working in cosmetics at Bonwit Teller in Chicago in 1978. They quickly fell in love and when work took Bill out of Chicago and back to his home state of Washington, they picked up their lives and left Chicago at the end of ‘78. They were married August 4th, 1979 and welcomed their first son, Michael in 1982. Their daughter, Meghan, followed in 1985 and son, Ryan, in 1990. In 1987 they relocated to Valencia, CA where he remained to this day.
He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, jazz, baking, WWII documentaries, and spending time with his children and grandson. Bill loved to garden, often spending weekends walking around nurseries planning his next garden update. His children’s fondest memories were summer camping trips and watching him bake his famous cookies.
Whenever anyone talks about Bill, you’ll often hear him described as a gentle, kind, and good person who loved people. He had a quiet sense of humor and as he aged, very little patience, which only made him funnier. He cared so deeply for the people around him. He made an impact on many lives. He was a dad to all, especially to the countless kids who came and went from the homes we grew up in. He will be forever missed, but is now back with his wife. Give mom a hug for us. Until we meet again.
