Trevor suffered from Krabbe’s Disease, an always fatal neurological disorder that usually claims its victims within a few years of birth. But, because of Trevor’s tremendous courage, supported by his family, Rochelle Feldman, M.D. (his doctor), nurses, loving and devoted care givers, Blue Cross, MediCal and L.A. Regional Center, Trevor outlived his diagnosed life expectancy by 22 years.
Trevor was born on September 2, 1989. In his short life, he was able to attend school, graduating in 2011 from Valencia High.
Over the years, Trevor’s many interests included: Dodger baseball, Vinny being his favorite announcer; airplanes, trains, Harry Potter, camping, Disneyland, “Trevor Time” with family and any holiday.
In addition to his parents, Trevor is survived by his sister Kelly, his brother Evan, his Grandmother Annie Garbe, his Grandfather Clarence Abrahamson, his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and, of course, Marylin Hedrick, his lifelong caregiver and Shari Wise, his wonderful nurse.
Services for Trevor Garbe will be at Eternal Valley Memorial Park in Newhall, at 11am on Monday, July 23, 2012. In lieu of flowers, Trevor would like to be remembered at the California State Railroad Museum. They can be reached at: www.csrmf.org.
