I didn't learn of Bill's passing until about a year later, and what a surprise.  He was an old school gentleman and all-around great guy. I first met him on a project as a new employee and we got talking.  Turns out we were both 'grunts', former US Army infantrymen. Bill was in Vietnam in the Delta and I was in Korea on the DMZ.  From then on, that was a special bond between us, and welded us together at the heart.  He's only a smile, a thought or a laugh away.  It is not very far, if you believe.  And I believe. Godspeed, my friend.

My Brother “Mr. Enthusiasm “. He got the most out of anything that was going on.  He was 16 months older than me and we were very close.  He was not a good fisherman but he always wanted me to take him fishing. This past summer I took him out on Swan Lake in Montana and he caught a 12 pound Northern Pike.  He was thrilled.
   We both shared the same sense of humor, sometimes not always convenient.  Bill was blind in one eye and when he beat me on every single game of pool he would always say “Bob, ya know I can only see out of one eye”. I will miss him terribly.

I grew up across the street from Bill and his family. He was a wonderful neighbor and man. He was always good for a laugh. I admired him for his service to our country and his dedication to veterans. I loved his love story with Meg. I am sending Meg, Lisa, Mike and the whole family lots of love and strength at this time. 

As a member of the "Boys of 67",  Bill was our brother.  I remember speaking to him at our many reunions - most of which were arranged by Bill and Meg.  I was fortunate enough to speak with him in the Hospital after his surgery.  He indicated he was still in some pain,  but I was shocked when I heard he passed away.

Bill was a good man and I know he will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his brothers in Charlie Company, 4/47th.

Bill and I grew up together in Reseda. We met when we were 10 or 11. The early years were about learning ,experiencing life and learning what true friendship is about. We played pool in his garage,swam in his pool,played football on the weekend pickup games, cruised the streets in our corvettes, hung out by the street light, went to the beach and just lived life. The neighborhood was a great place with great friends. Then we all went to war. He returned a decorated warrior who was instrumental in maintaining an environment assuring no veteran would be forgotten. He was a good man, husband,father and a true friend. I will forever miss my friend. Rest in peace.


There is a gas station by my house is off Lee Hwy at the intersection of Reynolds Dr here in Fincastle, VA. Every time I get gas there and I see the street sign that reads Lee/Reynolds I think of Uncle Bill. My first thought that comes to mind is Thanksgiving because every year me and the rest of my family would go there and enjoy some great family time together with him and his family. Those are the best memories I have of Uncle Bill. 

Brother In-Law-Bill.  I’m imagining  your in the big sports book in sky cashing in on every bet and being served  complimentary drinks. I’m sure you have already organized Charley Company reunions there having met up with the fallen and fellow veterans,  and erecting the finest Memorial. You would be very pleased with all the tributes being made to your honor your life. 

When we finally leave this life and move on to the next adventure, we take nothing with us, not even the body we spent this human experience in. There is only one thing that we can take with us, that is the LOVE of our family and friends, that will last for eternity. Bill has the LOVE of all his Charlie Company Brothers with him! We will miss you Bill!

My Friend Bill Reynolds !!  Bill and I grew up in the same neighborhood having met at around 11 years old.  Our group was large and stayed together from many years until most of us left for Viet Nam.  Bill was always a good friend, fun person and dependable.  I remember when he met Meg and I thought then they were a perfect couple.  I was there the day his dad died and did not have the words to console him with.  
Bill was a good and decent man, a good husband and a good father.  He also loved his country dearly and served it as a bronze star and purple heart recipient.   I will miss my friend Bill Reynold and the world will be a lesser place (((.  May God Bless Him !!!



Bill was one of the kindest, nicest, helpful individuals that I have known. He was a great neighbor. He did a fantastic job for the veterans in the Santa Clarita Valley. I always looked forward to the next full page story in The Signal that he wrote after interviewing each veteran. He will be greatly missed by his wife Meg, his son Michael, his daughter Lisa, and their families and all of us, whose Iives were touched by him.  God bless you Bill.

My heart goes  out to Bill's family. It was such a shock to hear he had died. I talked to him twice before going into the hospital for  his operation,  and twice afterwards. Just after that, he died. He was looking forward to the future and was very upbeat. I just could not believe  he had died. He always told me Tom, I'm going to be the last man standing. He told  me he would keep everyone informed on his web site. Well Bill. I'll.always keep our friendship and your memory, with me until I die. God Bless you my Brother. May you rest in eternal peace. I met Bill over fifty years ago at Lockheed in Burbank. Ironically, my father hired him. We worked together in Facilities Engineering almost our entire stint. A few years before I retired, Bill became my boss. Our working relationship was one of friends and more importantly, to get the job done, on time and on budget.

After retirement, he was relentless in helping veterans in our community of Santa Clarita. He was the most patriotic person I’ve ever known. His quick wit and humor was everlasting and I never saw him without a smile on his face. He will truly be missed by all that crossed his path.

My condolences to Meg and Family. 

Bill was my big brother and he always had my back.  We had a wonderful childhood growing up in Reseda.  Our father passed away at the early age of 50 and Bill stepped up to give guidance at a time when I needed it.   He encouraged me to get a job at Lockheed where I ended up working for 34 years.  He was a huge presence in many lives.  He made family gatherings so much fun as he insisted on singing Happy Birthday off key, I mean terribly off key.  Bill was incredibly talented, and the articles he wrote about Santa Clarita veterans were lovely tributes to many.  We are terribly sad he is not with us, but I know there is a special place in heaven for my big brother Bill.

"One friend can change your whole life" and that was the case with knowing Bill Reynolds.  I first met Bill in 1966 when we were both drafted and trained together in Fort Riley KS as part of the 9th Infantry Division.  We served together in Vietnam in 1967,  was honored to be considered a friend and I learned it was a friendship I would cherish for the next 55 years.   As we lift Bill's wife Meg and her family up in prayer during this great loss, we are so grateful for the memories.  Bill will never be forgotten but instead remembered until the day I draw my last breath.  Rest In Peace Bill Reynolds.  Meg,,, always know you are loved and cherished. I met Bill on Facebook and I found it interesting that we served in the same unit in Vietnam. He informed me about the National Geographic film about C. Company 4/47 and the book that was published. We shared memories of our time in Vietnam recalling the good, the bad and the ugly. RIP my Brother in Arms.
