Having just received the news of Johnny's demise, I am suddenly overwhelmed with the loss of an Onancock High School classmate. My initial introduction to Johnny "Buck" Ames was when at the advent of WWII, 30 of us entered the war time restrictions that governed all high school activities. Long ago memories conjure up fond memories of an energetic young man, filled with good humor, earnestness, and respect for everyone. With sympathy to the Ames Family from Eloise East Buckle, Onancock, VA

Wonderful childhood memories with this family. I will always remember Dr. Ames referring to me as his "little fishing buddy". Know that my heartfelt prayers are with you all.

Debbie and Family I was so saddened to hear of Dr Ames passing. I was 19 when he first treated me and will never forget his kindness and the ease he made me feel. Forty one years later I'm still at the practice .Dr Ames will always be remembered by me as a true gentleman, professional but a big teddy bear!He may be gone but will never be forgotten by me! RIP Dr Ames!

To all of you, I know firsthand how much Terry's mom and Terry thought of Dr. Ames. We also know how well thought of he was on the peninsula. Losing parents has to be one of the toughest things we have to go through in this life. Cherish your memories over the years. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers as you are going through this and as you continue to care for your mom. Love,
