Ms. Julia my heart breaks to know that your time here on earth has ended. I miss you already. You were the best neighbor anyone could have. May your light continue to shine through everyone that knew you. Ms. Phyllis

Julia you were such a great friend to my mother and her and I both loved you dearly. I will always remember your laugh and your smile and your sweet voice. We will miss you most when the flowers start to bloom. You always had a kind word and a sweet smile for everyone that came into your life and for that you will be in our hearts forever. Jae and Joan

My friend, Ann, called me today to let me know you died. What a shock.  I would usually see you around Christmas time since we usually came back to Williamsburg to visit friends.  This year we went to Florida and missed seeing you.  I'm so glad we got you that tree and Angel that looked like your daughter and you last Christmas. I realize that we were friends for almost 40 years. I remember you meeting me before I started teaching at Tarrant. You were so welcoming.  Then we grew together as you raised your girls and lost your parents. You gave me advise and we sailed together with Joe and Reed.  I went on to a new career and you would visit us as we would have pizza parties in Norfolk. I mostly remember when you found out that just because you were divorced did not mean that the Catholic Church divorced you and when you learned that you could still go to Mass and communion. You ended up going to St JEROMES and waiting there an hour before the doors open to go Mass. You were so excited.  I will be sure to have a Mass offered for you.  You always helped people out and never let people help you.  This was frustrating.  You mostly gave to your children and grandson.  How much you loved them.  How much you worried about them and wanted what was best for them. I remember when we visited you and your grandson and our son played together. They were only a few weeks apart. My other fond memory was when we went shopping together and bought those sandals and how you and I bought two pairs and you said that you would not need any more sandals for the rest of your life.  I did not know that your life would be so short.  You were like the Childrens story the Giving Tree where the tree gave until there was nothing left to give. Now at last you are getting your reward. And Jesus will take you in his arms and say well done Julia. Donna please know that your Mom loved you so very much.   I wanted to be at the Funeral but we figured out that from where we are on our trip home from Florida, we could not make it there on time.  Donna, I will donate some money to the Spiritual Care Ministry that runs grief groups for adults and children in our area. I will always remember your Mother. She helped me so much and was so selfless in her relationships. I am so heart broken. I miss her so much. Although I no longer live nearby, I always felt close to your Mom.You will receive a Christmas Card from me. Feel free to contact me if you need to talk.

It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.

Jim and I will always remember you and Donna as our first visiting neighbors on Taylor Ave... and what a pleasure you both were! Even though we lost contact over the years, we always remembered you and the wonderful experiences we shared there.

I will forever remember your precious smile. You always came with a warm heart and willing to love. You had the most giving heart and I loved watching you deal with babies, many at the same time. I also enjoyed watching you work with your flowers and plants, they loved you too. Your love for your family was like no others. You will always be missed, rest in peace, I'll love you always.
