Hope and Mark,
We were so sorry to hear of your dad's passing.  We always considered Jack to be a good friend.  He was chairman of the pastor search committee when we went to Orcutt Church, and we always knew that we could rely on him for advice, friendship and support.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I am sorry to hear of your Dad passing. I had a deep respect for him as an Engineer and a person. I know he is proud that you have carried on his work. I had the opportunity of working with him on a couple of projects when I was with WACI. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Mark and Family,
I'm sorry to see that Jack passed away. You may not know that we were more than neighbor and friends. Jack, and I and three others rode with H. C Ewing to Va. Tech our Junior year 1948-1949. I was the only one married (our first year). The next year Marian and I rented an Apt. in Blacksburg so that was the end of our riding together. Your Dad also knew my mother ---I think because he took cleaning to J.W. Daniel's where she worked. It is a small world and I'm glad that we continued our friendship in our later years. I'm not able to come to visitation because I can't really stand in one place very long. The standing is ok but the walking in between is awkward. Your Dad and I were about the same age. God comfort you with His Presence and the good memories.

I knew Mr. Thompson for app.20 years and was truly blessed in knowing him. He and Mrs. Glenna were a pleasure to work for and know. This was a man who conducted himself with reverence and integrity everyday in dealing with all he came in contact with. First he earned my respect and then my love, and I will truly miss him for the rest of my days. I can say the good Lord blessed me in knowing Mr. Mathew J. Thompson. Sincerely Guy Mahone.
