

Born October 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Charles Othniel Kennerly and Ella Albertine Poston Kennerly.
Betty was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church in Newton and also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She donated faithfully to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Delmar Alonzo Medlin, grandson, Andy Vallandingham; 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her five children, Joe Medlin (Ellen), Fred Medlin (Judy), Larry Medlin (Linda), Debby Reynolds, Leenie Vallandingham (Jim); grandchildren, Joel Medlin (Robin), Tim Medlin (Susie), Mark Medlin (Wendy), Ward Medlin (Misty), Paige Levin (Steven), Adam Medlin (Jen), Amber Keever (Daniel), Brad Medlin (Kimberly), Chris Vallandingham (Katie), Lindsey Vallandingham; great grandchildren, Jordan Medlin (Christina), Morgan Medlin, Catriona Medlin, Breannen Medlin, Sidonie Medlin, Nicholas Medlin, Austin Medlin, Savannah Medlin, Tyre Medlin, Riley Medlin, Conrad Eckhardt, Zach Goans, Owen Levin, Victoria Trujillo, Ashleigh Trujillo, Lizzy Randall, Rachel Packard, Minor Medlin, Finley Keever, Mia Jones, Daniel Noble; great-great grandchildren, Kellie Ching, Julianna Medlin, and Jensen Medlin.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, April 10, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church in Newton, with Rev. Steven Barnes officiating.
Mrs. Medlin’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m., at the church.
The family would like to invite friends and family for a reception in the narthex following the service.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville.
