Billy Clayton Stallings

Born January 1, 1932 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Clayton Stallings and Tallie Simmons Stallings. He was a longtime member of Corinth Baptist Church in Vale and retired from Ingold.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Danny Clayton Stallings; brother, Don Stallings; and son-in-law, Donnie Waldon.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 67 years, Poneeze Mitchem Stallings, of the home; son, Ralph Stallings and wife, Wanda of Newton, NC; daughters, Linda Waldon of Vale, NC, Sharon Willis and husband, Rex of Vale, NC; grandchildren, Olivia Bolick of Vale, NC, Holly Satterwhite of Hickory, NC, Quinn Waldon and wife, Stacie of Hickory, NC, Casey McCracken and husband, C.J. of Knoxville, TN; great grandchildren, Addison Bolick, Heidi Bolick, Logan Bolick, Ashton Satterwhite, Kelsi Waldon, Hailee Waldon and Lilli Waldon; sisters, Janice McCaslin and husband, Thurman of Newton, NC, Jerolyn Auton of Hickory, NC; brothers, Jack Stallings and wife, Frankie of FL, Larry Stallings and wife, Nancy of Hickory, NC, Harold Stallings and wife, Nancy of Asheboro, NC; numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Corinth Baptist Church in Vale, with Rev. William Kanupp officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Assisting as pallbearers are Johnny Martin, Derek Stallings, Pete Ducharme, C.J. McCracken, Rex Willis, and Greg Shull.

The family wishes to give many thanks to his farming and wood cutting buddies, Troy (Junebug) Stallings and Clarence Wise. Also, thanks to the family and church members for your many phone calls and prayers during his illness.
