Catherine Elizabeth Setzer Russell

Born September 9, 1930 in Catawba Co., she was the daughter of the late Caleb Aaron Setzer and Carrie Levine Smyre Setzer. She was a member of Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church and worked for 27 years as the payroll clerk at Carolina Mills. Catherine enjoyed traveling, cross-stitching, quilting, and shopping.

In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, William Dallas Russell; daughter, Connie Diane Russell; and brother, Cyril L. Setzer.

She is survived by her daughter, Libby Russell Lineberger of Newton; grandchildren, Jessica Horton of Raleigh, Aaron Horton and wife, Kim of Newton, William Sipe and wife, Tiffany of Lawndale, Keisa West and husband, Isaac of Gastonia, and five great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at Abernethy United Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Jim Church officiating. A private burial will be held at Eastview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
