

Born July 29, 1967 in Burlington, VT, he was the son of the late Deforest Riley and Salina Dufrane Riley and was a railroad mechanic for Norfolk Southern Railways. He spent 10 years at the railroad and loved his railroad buddies at Norfolk Southern.
He enjoyed fishing in his pond and served proudly in the USMC infantry. He was trained in the Philippines and served in Somalia.
In addition to his parents, Darren was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Riley and sister, Jodie Hughey.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Pamela Flow Riley, stepsons, J.J. & C.J. of the home; James Byrum, Jr., and wife, Emily of Norfolk, VA; two stepdaughters, Samantha Bradford of PA, Davilyn Cockburn and husband, Cain, of Gloucester, VA; brother, Jon Riley and wife, Linda of Rome, NY; sisters, Sherry Riley of Black Mtn., NC, Robin Pritchard and husband, Joe of Tampa, FL, Vicki Austin and husband, Michael of St. Regis Falls, NY; grandchildren, Rori Bradford of PA, Anthony Stape of VA, and Zachary Cockburn of VA.
Darren loved and shared a lifetime friendship with Charlie and Ann Scott, and Tracey and Dean Fountain.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton. Rev. Byron Repass will officiate.
The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton.
