Doris Nance Martin, age 84, of Hickory passed away Monday, April 15, 2019 at Trinity Ridge in Hickory.
Born January 1, 1935 in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late June Clyde Nance and Beulah Lee Leigh Nance.
She was a member of New Testament Church in Longview, NC.
Doris loved crocheting and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Eugene Martin; and one brother, Lemuel Nance.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Wanda Holden and husband, Danny of Icard, NC, Sheila Roark and husband, Billy of Hickory, Debra Johnson and husband, Terry of Spartanburg, SC, Pamela Cox and husband, Victor of Lawndale, NC; sons, Randy Martin and wife, Jansie of Lenoir, NC, Tony Eugene Martin and wife, Belinda of Connelly Springs, NC, Daniel Keith Martin and wife, Joanne of Granite Falls, NC, Tracy Lynn Martin and wife, Tamara of Newton, NC, Billy Paul Martin of Hickory, NC, Lemuel Shawn Martin and wife, Tracie of Vale, NC; sisters, Dessie Nance Grigg and husband, Jerry of Gastonia, NC, Hazel Nance Ford and husband, Hildred of Lowell, NC; brothers, Clyde Nance of Gastonia, NC, Wister Nance and wife, Janice of Gastonia, NC; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, April 18, 2019 in the Chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton, with Rev. Terry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Brookford City Cemetery in Hickory.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Ridge 2104 Medical Park Drive, Hickory, NC 28602.

So sorry we did not know about Sis. Doris passing away. Just seen it on Facebook. Knowing she will really be missed but it is a blessing to know that she is in a better place than we are and now united with her husband. She was a precious sister in the Lord.

Doris was the Mom of my sister in law Sheila. I remember she was a Firm but kind woman . You learned quick , to not get on her bad side! :) She could whip up a meal for 25 Lickety split! She appreciated a hard worker and told you so . Love you !!! She truly
