Butch was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He was a member of West Hickory Baptist Church where he was a deacon and ran the sound system for 25 years. He worked as an equipment manager in the construction industry. Butch enjoyed the outdoors where he liked to fish and grill.
Those left to cherish Butch’s memory are his wife of 58 years, Kathy Duncan Younce; sons, Frank Younce (Tamara), Marc Younce (Teresa); sisters, Ann Ratchford, Amy Moose; grandchildren, Kaylie Raddatz (Stephan), Clowee Sigmon (Hunter), Darbey Roberts (Noah), Luke Younce (Kylie), Raven Ritchie, Jade Ritchie, Savannah Alexander (Kirk), Cheyenne Grant (Joseph); great grandchildren, Sofie Younce, Hayden Roberts; two nieces and two nephews.
A Celebration of Butch’s life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at West Hickory Baptist Church, 40 12th St NW, Hickory, NC 28601. The family will receive friends from 1pm – 1:45pm prior to the service
