Eddie grew up in Catawba County and was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Following marriage, he became a member of Bethany United Church of Christ, where he served in numerous leadership positions throughout the years. Eddie was a 1963 graduate of Bunker Hill High School and a 1965 graduate of Wingate Junior College. He also attended Western Carolina College. His career was in the furniture industry, having worked for Bassett Furniture, Ragan Hardware, Yarborough and Company, and retiring from Preferred Furniture Components. He held positions in scheduling, purchasing and sales.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Ervin; son, Eric Ervin of Conover; grandson, Hunter Ervin of Claremont; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Darrell Little of Conover; brother-in-law, Jerry Pope of Conover; niece, Lori Little of Conover; nephew, Jon Little of Beaufort, SC; a special aunt, Helen Campbell of Catawba; numerous other nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Claudia Pope.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 Monday, June 19, 2023 at Bethany United Church of Christ, 2952 Bethany Church Rd, Claremont NC 28610. The Reverend Kathy Naish will officiate.
