Frances Aileen Barnes Leatherman

Born August 4, 1928 in Haywood County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Cleouda Bill and Annie Clark Barnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Stewart Leatherman; a brother, James Alvin Barnes; and a sister, Virginia Golden.

She was a member of Hudson Chapel Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and had worked as an inspector at Clyde Fabrics and was a homemaker. Frances loved her family and her church.

Survivors include five sons & daughters-in-law, Melvin and Deborah Leatherman of Hixson TN, Charles and Pam Leatherman of Catawba, Joe and Hyeryung Leatherman of Lake Mary, FL, Lawrence and Lisa Leatherman of Catawba, Michael and Brandy Leatherman of Catawba; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Hudson Chapel Baptist Church in Catawba. Revs. Frank Bentley and Dean Hart will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:45 p.m. at the church.
