Helen Jarrett Sigmon

Born March 30, 1934, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Homer Keith and Eoline Marie Leatherman Jarrett.

She was a member of Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Ernest Marshall Sigmon, their infant son, Jeffery Allen Sigmon; brothers, Jim Jarrett, Keith Jarrett and wife, Pauline, and Don Jarrett.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Tim Sigmon of Newton; daughters, Kathy Barbour and husband, Mike, of Sarasota, FL, Tina Loftin and husband, Lonnie of Newton, Lisa Graff and husband, Bret of Conover; brother, Ned Jarrett and wife, Martha, of Newton; sister, Joanne Heavner and husband, Herman, of Newton and sister-in-law, Emma Jean Jarrett of Claremont; grandchildren, Ryan Barbour and wife, Dawn, Brent Barbour, Haley Shaffer and husband, Garrett, Amanda Loftin, Derek Loftin and wife, Bethany, Ayden Loftin, Shawn Loftin, Shelby Graff; great-grandchildren, Sadie Barbour, Izzy Shaffer, Cooper Shaffer.

Mrs. Sigmon’s Service of Remembrance will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church in Newton with the Rev. Jim Church officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Newton.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:15 at Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church.
