

Born March 29, 1929 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Lindsey Jay and Alberta Blanche Barringer Jarrett.
Jim was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover and was the President of Superior Petroleum & Fuel Company. He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force after serving in the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William “Bill” Jarrett and Jay David Jarrett and his sister, Pauline “Polly” Jarrett Bean.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Donna Kluttz Jarrett, of the home; daughters, Karen Jarrett Montieth and husband Mitchell of Rutherfordton, NC, and Mitzi Jarrett Budde, and husband, John of Alexandria, VA; son, Alan Jarrett of Hickory; granddaughter, Lauren Montieth of Rutherfordton, NC; step-granddaughter, Tiffany Bingham and husband Bryan of Dallas, TX; step-great-grandchildren, Allison Bingham, Bailey Bingham, Kayla Bingham and Bryan August Bingham.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Concordia Lutheran Church. Reverend A. Mark Schudde and Reverend Brian Weaver will officiate. The family especially invites their many friends to attend the service and also the receiving which will immediately follow. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Eastview Cemetery in Newton.
