Kant Patel

Dr. Kant Patel, 88, was born on May 12, 1937, to the late Khanjibhai Patel and Jumnaben Patel. He passed away on September 8, 2025, at Conover Nursing. Dr. Kant Patel, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and physician, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025. Born in Khadsupa, India, he pursued medicine across three continents—practicing in Germany before settling in Indiana, where he delivered over 2,000 babies and served his community with compassion and dedication. He retired in 2005, and the following year, he and Shanta moved to Conover, North Carolina. He leaves behind a legacy of service, kindness, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Dhiru Patel; and sister, Khiki Patel.

Kant was survived his wife of 70 years, Shanta Patel; sons, Sanjay Patel (Angela), and Sam Patel (Jennifer); grandchildren, Hayden, and Anna Grace.

A Hindu service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home with Mahraj Ashoke Patel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amorem Hospice of Burke County; San Digeo Center for the Blind; Women’s resource center of Hickory NC.
