Born December 17, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Marcus Lafayette Woodring and Icie Idora Christopher Woodring.
Mae loved music and playing the guitar; she loved to garden and grow beautiful flowers; she loved taking care of her grandparents and nieces and nephews. Mae inspired and blessed all those that knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Woodring, Coy “Peck” Woodring and two sisters, Mary Higgins and Faye Jarrett.
Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Charlie Ray Woodring of Maiden; sister, Sarah Woodring Sigmon, of Newton, sister-in-law, Pauline Woodring, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Newton, with Rev. O. Ralph Kraft, Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton.
