

Born May 15, 1931 in Catawba Co., she was the daughter of the late Edward M. Lynch and Beulah Jarrett Lynch. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Newton.
She graduated as valedictorian of her class at Blackburn High School and UNC Greensboro. She taught briefly in Maryland and at Hildebran High School, she retired with 30 plus years at Fred T. Foard High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers; William Ray of the home, Earl Lynch and Howard Lynch both of Hickory; and her nephews, Ronald Hoyle of Vale and Max Lynch of Hickory.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Lynch Hoyle of Vale; brother, Walter Lynch and wife, Rachel of Longview; nieces, Sharon Hoyle Wilson of Mooresville and Debra Lynch of Hickory ; nephews, Mark Lynch and wife, Debra of Wilmington, Scott Lynch of Newton, Allen Hoyle and wife, Reba of Vale, and Dennis Hoyle and wife, Trudy of Vale; and a number of cousins.
A service of remembrance will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 at 2:00p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Larry Yoder and Rev. Gene Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton from 6:30p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
