Mary was born April 12, 1923 in Caldwell County and the daughter of the late William Marvin Starnes and Ada Henri Poovey Starnes. Mary enjoyed all the grandchildren, summers at the lake and her flower garden.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Ray Arndt; son, William Lewis Arndt; sisters, Violet Hartley, Carolene Watts, Margaret Lints, Sue Miller; brothers, Paul, Gene, and Louie Starnes.
She is survived by her sons, Allen Arndt and wife Connie of Maiden, sister, Peggy McCorkle; brother, Joe Starnes, grandchildren, Benjamin Arndt and wife Andrea, William Arndt wife Rakhi, Michael Arndt wife Allison, Christopher Arndt and wife Laura, Mark Frasure and wife Jennifer, Brian Frasure and wife Carrie, Matthew Frasure and wife Nicole.
A graveside service will be held at 3 pm Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery in Catawba with Pastor Matt Rummage officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Olivet Baptist Church building fund at 7893 Monbo Rd Catawba, NC.
The Arndt family is in the care of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home.
