Norma Lee Gross

Norma Lee Gross, 90, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Carnel and Girty Cook Walker. Mrs. Gross loved to plant flowers, cook and make quilts. She was the most wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband Fred, and two sons, Billy Joe Gross and Michael Ray Walker. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Whitener and her husband Freddie Whitener Sr. of Vale; three sons, Roger Walker of Newton, Dean Walker and his wife Debra of Vale, and Jerry Gross and his wife Tina of Hickory; brother Terry Walker of Casar, NC; two sisters, Irene Ledford of Casar, and Evelyn Hess of Shelby; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Also, a special acknowledgement to Deb Thomas of Hildebran, NC.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 21, 2025, at Willis Reynolds Funeral Home, 56 Northwest Blvd, Newton, from 1:00 – 1:45 pm. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel with the Rev. Steve Noble officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery, Newton.
