

Born August 30, 1928, in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late Clifton M. Westbrook and Dorothy H. Westbrook.
In 1929, Bob moved to Charlotte and graduated from Centeral High School in 1946. He continued his education and graduated from Presbyterian College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He served as VP, Secretary and Treasurer of Westbrook-Norton Insurance beginning in 1950.
He was President of Norco, Inc., which provided insurance for the North Carolina Motor Club and was also a board member of the North Carolina State Motor Club. He served as board member of the Carolina Association of Professional Insurance Agents and served as president in 1989.
He worked extensively with Alexander Children’s Home in Charlotte, NC.
He was a member of Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC, serving as a Deacon for six years, Elder for six years, and Chairman of the Big Tent building campaign.
In 2005, he moved to Newton, NC, where he became a member of First Presbyterian Church, Newton and served as the Clerk of Session for a number of years, and also served various and sundry committees.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn McKnight Westbrook.
He is survived by his son, Robert Clifton Westbrook; daughter, Lynn Sample and husband, Dee Sample; grandchildren, Shea Sample and wife, Sharine, Jake Radke and fiancé, Chelsea Baker, Jordan Sample and fiancé, Lela Gryder, and Spencer Radke, all of Newton, NC. He is also survived by his brothers, William C. Westbrook and Phillip A. Davis and wife, Carol K. Davis of Charlotte; nephews, Ken Davis and wife, Kyle, Rankin Davis and wife, Christina, Warren Westbrook and wife Denise, Tom Westbrook and wife Anne, and Jimmy Westbrook and wife Sherry.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Frist Presbyterian Church in Newton, with Rev. Steven Barnes officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
