Ronald “Ron” Philip Culp, age 77, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Brian Center East in Hickory, NC. Born January 10, 1939, he was the son of the late Harry Conrad Culp Jr. and Lula Mae Brenize Culp. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a supporter of Veterans Groups. During his career, he worked in banking, insurance and retail.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Derik Conrad Culp and wife Kat of Texas; brother, Terry E. Culp and wife Joanne of Maryland; sister, Brenda Culp Smith of Newton, NC; three nephews, Joshua J. Smith and wife Wendy, Nathanael Smith, Joseph Smith; and grand-nephew, Harrison Smith.
A Rosary Prayer Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 in the Chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton. Father James Collins will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
