Ruth Miriam Schell Kiser

Ruth Schell Kiser, age 84, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of the Newton-Conover community, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Born February 15, 1928, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Claude Manning Schell and Fannie Ora Eckard Schell. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Allen Kiser; sister, Helen Schell Deal; and a great-grandson, Lincoln Alvarez.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law Darrellyn Kiser of Charlotte, NC, and Ellen Jury and husband Kenny of Waxhaw, NC; son, Allen Kiser of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Sarah Alvarez of Pageland, SC, Kevin Jury of Waxhaw, NC, Jessica Kiser of Gastonia, NC, and Kristin Jury of Waxhaw, NC; great-grandchildren, Memphis Alvarez, Neva Alvarez, Bristol Alvarez, and Carson Alvarez.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Conover City Cemetery. Rev. Brian Weaver will officiate. Prior to the graveside service, the family will receive friends at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton, NC, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Allen Kiser, Kenny Jury, Larry Kiser, Kenneth Kiser, Gary Mauney, and John Vest.
