Sylvia Diane Goins

Born February 18th, 1947 in Hickory, NC, she was the daughter of Glenn Lee Deitz and Irene Robinson Deitz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Jack Goins; brothers in law; Larry Goins of Icard and Jim Goins of Newton.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Glenn Lee Deitz and Irene Robinson Deitz; sons, Scott Teague and wife Laura of Hickory and Glenn Edward Lail and grandson, Dustin Lail of Hickory; brother, Steve Deitz and wife Donna of Newton; and sister, Phyllis Whitener and husband Peter of Newton; sisters-in-law, Doris Ledford of Hickory, Joann Herman of Conover, Jane Goins of Icard, Rhonda Goins of Newton; special friends Genet Costner and Mike Curley; Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and three beloved dogs.

A Service of Remembrance will be held Tuesday, September 17th, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Saint Paul’s Reformed Church in Newton with Rev. John Bigelow officiating.

The family will receive family and friends from 3:00 to 3:45 at Saint Paul’s Reformed Church in Newton.
