He was born October 8, 1946 in Gaston County, NC to the late William and Ovaleen Merrill Taylor.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded by his brothers, Bill, Jack, Steve and Ed Taylor; sisters, Ellen Parker, Sue McMahan and Net Muscat.
He is survived by his two sons, Ryan Taylor and wife Jennifer, and Brian Taylor; step son, Michael Fair; step daughter, Dana Doster; grandchildren, Beckett and Sutton Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews.
Mr. Taylor was a member of the US Air Force and was a member of the VFW Post 9337.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Conover, Glen Oaks Golf Course, Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, the Mason, and Shriners.
Celebration of life will be Saturday, November 20th at Glen Oaks Golf Club 245 Golf Course Road Maiden, NC 28650. Memorial will be held at 3:00pm on the putting green followed be Celebration of Life gathering inside the clubhouse starting at 3:30pm. No suits golf attire preferred.
