William Harold Lynch passed away January 26, 2022. He was born January 13, 1936 in Catawba County. Mr. Lynch graduated from St. Stephens High School and Appalachian State Teachers College (Appalachian State University).
Mr. Lynch had a varied career, having taught and coached in the Catawba County school system. Later, he traveled North and South Carolina in book sales, working with librarians and reading specialists. He retired from the administrative office of the courts, state of North Carolina as a magistrate judge in Catawba County.
Mr. Lynch was preceded in death by his parents Hugh Lynch and Bertha Brittan Lynch. His wife Lana G Lynch passed away in 2008, and his son Barrett William Lynch in 2013. He is survived by a son, Kyle Jennings Lynch of the home.
Mr. Lynch was a life-long Methodists and a member of The First United Methodist Church of Newton, NC. He was active as a teacher for the Parker Class, and a teacher for the men’s and women’s bible class on their radio program, a usher and was also involved with the grief share program.
He was proud of his family, and the many friends he enjoyed in the area. He loved playing golf and keeping a pretty yard.
