TONG YIA XIONG Born on June 7, 1950. In the city of Ban Nam. In the country of Laos He was the first son of Cher Ge Xiong and BaoVang. They had a total of 4 children. Yiabeing the eldest and only son. He had 3 sisters that are deceased. Later Cher Ge remarried ShouaVang. Cher Ge and ShouaVang has a total of 6 children. YiaXiong survived by his children. His wife was Ker Vang of 47 years. His wife died in August 24thof 2012. He was a father to 7, a grandfather of 25 and great grandfather of 14. Yia came to America April 6, 1976. He brought his family to the land of freedom and opportunity, in hopes of providing his family a better life. He and his family arrived and resided in Bay City, Michigan. He was an honest and diplomatic person. He loved family and had many friends everywhere he went. Yia was an open minded and big hearted individual. He was very compassionate and loving towards everyone. His true calling and passion was helping others. Regardless, day or night, he was ready to serve whenever called upon. Later on, once he got settled, Yia had sponsored his father Cher Ge and his family to come live with him in America. He first, came into this world as a son and then became a father. He was a loving grandfather and great grandfather. He was always a good brother to all. He was a person that loved and respected everyone. He finally departed his family and loved ones, in the early morning of April 2, 2018 in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina. A word of advice he would give to those of us behind. He would want us to love and respect one another. And to continue to stride to live a respectful and honest life. He would also say, “if you want to be a good person, do as I say and what I represent and not do as I do.” That way you will live a life with much success and contentment. We will remember, love and cherish you each and every day for the rest of our lives.
