Alan Albert Newell

Alan was a retired Lighting Designer/Engineer for Zumtobel Lighting Inc., Highland, NY where many of his lighting fixture designs were patented. Alan was an avid dog lover, enjoyed woodworking, archery, and reading Popular Science and Scientific America.

The son of Albert and Anna Newell, he was born on April 30, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY.

Alan married Ann Joyce on September 20, 1969, in Flushing, NY.

Alan leaves behind his wife of 53 years Ann; three children: Dennis Newell, Douglas Newell, Matthew Newell and his wife Kristin; one sister: Lynne Gesele and her husband Roger; five grandchildren: Amanda, Ryan, Justin, Lucas, and Caleb.

A celebration of Alan’s life will be held at a later date.
