Angie was born on the lower east side of Manhattan, NY. She married Anthony “Tony” Pepe in 1951 and moved to Garfield, NJ and then Lodi, NJ before settling down in Sussex County in 1975. Angie worked as a seamstress before settling in as a full time homemaker.
Angie loved being with her family and friends and also loved cooking, sewing, music and art. She enjoyed traveling and spending time in Marco Island, Florida. Angie was a founding member and first president of the St. Anthony of Padua Society in Garfield and was a longtime member of St. Joseph RC Church in Newton; she loved God, the Virgin Mary and Saint Anthony.
Daughter of the late Dominick and Angelina Belnome (Ippolito), Angie was also predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Anthony “Tony” Pepe; her sisters, Grace Belnome and Mary Blazina; and her brother, Joe Belnome. She is survived by her daughter, Antoinette Terrano and husband, Mike, of Hampton Township; and sons, Anthony V. Pepe and wife, Brenda, of Hampton Township, Dominick Pepe and wife, Barbara, of Montville, and Russ Pepe and wife, Darlene, of Debary, Florida. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Monday, August 21, 2023, at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 24 Halsted St, Newton, NJ, burial will follow in Stillwater Cemetery.
