Artie was born on June 26, 1951 in Newark to the late Charles and Catherine (Purcell) Fernicola. Artie grew up in Newark but later moved to Parsippany before settling in Newton over 30 years ago. Artie worked for Prudential and Merrill Lynch prior to his retirement. Artie was an avid reader and a coin collector. He enjoyed learning history and appreciated older music like Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope.
The beloved husband to Veronica Fernicola, Artie is also survived by his son, Michael Fernicola; his sister-in-laws, Candy Blazier and her husband Bill and Cindy Lain and her husband, Baird; his brother-in-law, Lou Parrott and his wife, Maryann Steinel and many loving nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, his brother, Rick Fernicola, predeceased Artie.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 1 p.m. -3 p.m. at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, NJ. A time of sharing will begin at 3 p.m.
