Barbara was born in Paterson to the late William and Violet (Bray) Fearn. She was the former Secretary for Hackettstown United Methodist Church and worked for Heath Village in Hackettstown where she was the greeter and the face everyone knew and loved. Barbara started her own cleaning company after her husband’s death; she treated her clients as if they were her own family.
Barbara was active with her church family at Broadway United Methodist and was involved in multiple areas and events. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her infamous pies. Barbara centered her life on family, not only in the sense she was a wonderful and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, but a gracious, loving woman who treated everyone she met as if they were family and made them feel so loved.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was also predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Joseph D. Skeens; and her sister, Harriet Fearn. She is survived by her daughters, Harriett Daley (Michael), Barbi Oakley, Bonnie Hapstack (David); her son, Scott Skeens (Deb Paulus); her grandchildren, Shaun Daley, Kara Decesare (Anthony), Austin Oakley, Tyler Oakley, Kelli Hapstack (Billy Lennox) and Parker Skeens; her great-grandchildren Anthony, Nicolas, Andrew, Zachary, Everett & Kenzy; her brother, Robert Fearn; and her nieces and nephews.
