OBITUARY

Beryl Jeannette Alfano

October 2, 1929April 4, 2021

Beryl Jeannette Alfano, 91, of Branchville, peacefully passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Beryl was born on October 2, 1929 in Rapid City, South Dakota to the late Meade and Una (Miner) Morrison. She grew up on the prairie in Bonita Springs SD, lived in Sturgis, SD, Leadville, CO and Garden Home, OR before getting married and moving to New Jersey where summers were spent at Culver Lake and upon retirement, winters in Boynton Beach. She was a member of the women's club at both locations.

Her love of nature, camping and travel brought her to many national parks, butterfly farms, and wildlife sanctuaries. Trips to Italy, South Africa and cruising to the Caribbean were some of her favorites and her sense of adventure led her to go water skiing in her 60’s and parasailing in her 80’s.

When at home she enjoyed gardening, bird watching and making crafts for her cherished children and grandchildren. You could always find her in the kitchen happily cooking and baking for her ever-growing family and friends. Beryl was a woman of strong and devoted faith, who touched the hearts of everyone she met and left this world a better place. She will be greatly missed.

The beloved wife of 74 years to Philip Alfano, Beryl is survived by her children; Linda Breiner and her husband Ben, Gail Gerard, Philip Alfano and his wife Rosanna, Jeannette Bodner and her husband Larry, Raymond Alfano and his wife Mabel and Lisa West and her husband Chuck, her daughter-in-law Cathy, her brother, Frank Morrison, 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Her son Robert Alfano, her son-in-law Bobby Gerard and her sisters Naomi Stedman and Ina Faye Purnell predeceased Beryl.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 1-5 p.m. at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton, NJ 07860. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 209 US-206, Branchville, NJ. We were so saddened to learn of Beryl's passing. Carol and I just recently watched a video of my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary and saw your Mom and Dad dancing. We commented on the long and loving friendship they had and that your Mom was such a sweetheart. We remember what a gentle, beautiful and loving person she was...always so kind and hospitable. She will always have a place in our hearts.

With our deepest condolences,
The Giancaspro Family
