Concetta moved to Brooklyn, New York, in her mid-20s. Her time in Brooklyn was marked by persistence and purpose, where she worked in various factories and also served as a caregiver, offering the essential gift of presence to those who needed it.
Concetta met her late husband and the love of her life, Emilio Turano, through a mutual friend. Concetta proudly called Paterson, NJ home until recently, when she made her final move to Byram Township with her son and daughter-in-law.
Above all, Concetta was a homemaker, creating a home where warmth and love were felt by everyone who entered. That same sense of warmth and hospitality lived on through her love of cooking. She was an exceptionally skilled chef, turning meals into an expression of the care she so naturally gave. She also loved to clean and was remarkably neat; no one could clean quite like she could. She possessed an attention to detail and a standard of cleanliness that was uniquely her own.
Concetta leaves behind cherished memories for her loving son and daughter-in-law, as well as seven beloved siblings and many dear family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on June 29, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton, New Jersey 07860, with a Prayer Service beginning at 11:30 a.m. A funeral procession will then proceed to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery and Mausoleum, 52 Totowa Rd., Totowa, New Jersey 07512, for Concetta’s final resting place at 2:00 p.m.
