Born April 27, 1945, in Newton, Dave was a life-time resident of Stillwater, NJ. After graduating from Newton High School, Dave farmed and owned Dalling Excavating for many years. He later sold the business to pursue his passion in dairy farming, pigs and crops. Dave had the gift of gab and a nickname for everyone. Loved for his wittiness and his wry sense of humor.
Dave was a life-time member of the Stillwater Fire Department, serving as Chief 1984-1985 and 1990-1991. He was also a long-term member of the Stillwater Sportsman Club. He loved cheering on his grandchildren in sports, especially wrestling.
Dave is predeceased by his father, Robert Dalling, his mother, Hazel Dalling and Brother, Robert Dalling Jr. He is survived by his long time loving companion of 35 years, Sharon Smith; his son, David and his wife, Jerri; his son Steven, and his wife, Rene; his daughter Laura; and grandchildren, David Dalling, Makayla Murch, Steven Dalling, Jr. and Ethan Dalling.
Visitation for Dave will be held at the Stillwater Firehouse, 929 Stillwater Road, Stillwater, NJ on Friday, March 19, 2021, from 4 to 7 pm, Fireman services at 7 PM. Services will be held at Stillwater Fire House on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1 pm and fellowship immediately following.
