Dolores was born in North Bergen, New Jersey, and raised in Sparta by her late parents John and Mildred (Schwarz) Kiesel. She later made her home in Lafayette Township, where she resided for the remainder of her life.
In her early years, Dolores dedicated herself to her family as a loving homemaker. She later went on to work as a clerk for the United States Postal Service in Newton, where she proudly served for 24 years before retiring in 1992.
Dolores shared a beautiful life with her late husband of 54 years, Richard, with whom she traveled extensively. Together they explored destinations across the globe, including Hawaii, Alaska, Costa Rica, the Bahamas, and countless other places, always treasuring the memories she made along the way.
Above all, Dolores cherished time spent with her beloved family. She especially enjoyed strawberry and apple picking and sleepovers with her four great-granddaughters, moments that brought her immeasurable joy and laughter.
Faith and service were central to Dolores’s life. She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Branchville, where she remained an active member throughout the years. She also proudly served as a member of the Lafayette Ladies Fire Auxiliary, contributing her time and dedication to her community.
Dolores will be remembered for her warmth, her devotion to her family, her faith, and her adventurous spirit.
Dolores leaves fond memories to her beloved children, Dorleen Donahue (Tim), and Richard Scott (Tammie); her nieces Kathleen Bell (Jack), Sandra Dee Roy, and John Coerts (Terrie); her 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and many loving great-nieces and great-nephews.
Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Scott; and her sister Dorothy Coerts and her husband Jim.
