Dorothy was born in New York City on March 27, 1937 to the late Michael and Molly (McDermott) Kennedy. She grew up in the Bronx before settling in Newton in 1963. Dorothy loved dancing and playing card games. She was a member of the Prime Time Seniors, VFW Post 5360 and American Legion Post 86 and Newton Fire Department Auxiliary.
The beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Tracy, Dorothy is survived by her children, Joe Tracy, Mike Tracy, Theresa Zukowski, John Tracy and his wife Sandy, Robert Tracy and his wife Kelly and Tara Crandall and her husband Sean; her grandchildren, Jeff, Christine, Jenn, Ryan, Katherine, Sean, Samantha, Joe, Julia and Kadence and her great-grandchildren, Karina and Jaxson. Along with her parents and husband, four sisters and her son, Thomas Tracy predecease Dorothy.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, NJ 07860. A funeral service will be held the next day at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Newton Cemetery.
