

Edward was born and raised in Scranton, PA. He worked as a housepainter for 44 years with Kennington & Sons in Summit, NJ prior to retiring and spending the last 15 years in Hopatcong, NJ.
A devoted NY Giants fan, Edward was never shy about showing his team spirit. He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of several local bowling leagues; he enjoyed the camaraderie and competition. He regularly played the lottery, looked forward to occasional trips to the casino with his wife and playing games when visiting extended family. He treasured the time spent with family and found solace in the beauty of nature. Edward loved swimming in the lake and cherished his beloved pets. He enjoyed spending time at the Elks Lodge in Summit, NJ with dear friends. Edward enjoyed all kinds of music and loved playing the guitar. He could be seen with his daily coffee, day or night, or a tall glass of milk; not to mention a light beer from time to time. He had a deep faith in God that was shown through his compassion and kindness that inspired others. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Edward would always strive to make people laugh.
Edward was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Mary Snopek; his daughter, Mary Elaine Snopek; his son, Joseph Edward Snopek; his sister, Joan O’Donnell; his brothers, Richard and Robert Snopek; and his brothers-in-law, Harry Lockett, Michael O’Donnell & Paul Muchler. He is survived by his beloved wife, Michaeline Snopek; his daughter, Tamara Snopek; her companion, Robert Trewhella and Robert’s son, Jack; his sisters Mary D. Lockett and Charlotte Muchler; his brothers, Joseph F. Snopek and Leo J. Snopek; and his sisters-in-law, Ann Marie Snopek & Nancy Snopek. He is also survived by many loving relatives and friends who will all fondly remember him as Eddie.
Services will be held privately under the direction of Smith-McCracken Funeral Home. A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
