Gary Robert Cooper

Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a long and distinguished career in public service. He worked for the federal government at Picatinny Arsenal, retiring in 2002.

Gary was also deeply committed to his community and proudly served with the Newton Fire Department, where he served as Chief. His dedication, leadership, and willingness to serve others were qualities that defined much of his life.

He was a proud and longtime member of the Freemasons and valued the fellowship and principles of the organization.

Outside of his career and community service, Gary had a great love for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing and hunting, passions that brought him countless hours of happiness and many cherished memories with family and friends.

Gary was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Emma Cooper, and his seven siblings.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Bette Glass Cooper; his children, Gail Jobes (Christopher), Anissa Feldman (Andrew), and Mathew Cooper (Nicole); as well as six cherished grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Gary will be remembered for his dedication to his country and community, his love of the outdoors, and, most importantly, his love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
