Gene Mitchell Stires, Jr.

Born on December 15, 1977 in Newton, Gene was a lifelong Sussex County resident. Gene was a talented welder by trade and he was trained and experienced in various construction and trade fields. He was an avid and skilled hunter and fisherman. He treasured nature and spending time outdoors and adored capturing the beauty of the great outdoors through his camera lens. He was a loving and devoted father, friend and family member.

Gene is survived by his son, Adam Stires; his grandmother, Jean Lambert; his former wife, Christine Stires; his great-aunt, Gloria; his siblings, Tom Hendershot (Melissa), Tammy Thomson (Drew), Andrew Walters and Tommy Walters; his step-mother, Dawn Walters and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. He is loved and will be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held privately at a later date.
